James Justiss literally grew up in the oil fields of East Texas and North and Central Louisiana. His father, drilling pioneer J. F. "Jick" Justiss, was General Superintendent of H. L. Hunt's field operations and a 19 year employee of Hunt's before founding Justiss-Mears Oil Company and settling in LaSalle Parish, Lousiana in 1946.

At the young age of 14 years old, James began working on Justiss' Rig #1. He learned every aspect of the drilling business through hands-on experience from child roughneck to his present position as President and Chairman of the Board of Justiss Oil Company, Inc. His keen business sense and assertiveness were qualities instrumental in successfully guiding his company through the economic highs and lows in our industry.

Justiss earned the respect of his employees and of his colleagues as being a man of integrity and one possessing outstanding leadership abilities. His "can do" reputation was also recognized by the oil and gas industry as he was honored many times for his accomplishments in serving and protecting the industry. Some of the capacities in which Justiss has served include Director of I. P. A. A., National Board Member of A. P. I., President of I. A. D. C., President of LAIPRO, Member of National Petroleum Council Committee on Materials and Manpower, and Chairman of Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Assoc. for two consecutive terms. Justiss has received the I. A. D. C. Dedicated Service Award and was the first recipient of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Hard Hat Award for outstanding dedication and service to the industry.

James Justiss has combined both field and management experience with dependability to form Alliance Drilling Consultants. He brings to Alliance his basic business philosophy of providing customers with quality service at fair prices.
